Sponsoring a Child with Cryptocare

Keyner Gabriel lives with his parents and has no brothers or sisters. His parents struggle to provide for the family. His father is a farm laborer and his mother is a housewife. Despite their efforts, it is difficult to meet the family's needs.

Keyner Gabriel is growing up in a mountainous, forested region in the western highlands of Guatemala. Nearly nine in 10 people here live in poverty, due to a general lack of clean water, jobs, and useable farming land. People use rivers and streams as water sources, but not all waste water is treated when it goes back into the rivers, so people are at risk of health problems from the contaminated water. Access to healthcare in the rural areas is limited, and children suffer from preventable diseases. Family structures are not strong, caused in part from the pressures of poverty, and too many children face exploitation like child labor or harm like domestic violence. Families have limited awareness of the benefits of education for their children’s future, so many kids work instead of attending school. Kids and youth aren’t aware of their rights for protection, education, and care.

Keyner Gabriel is not yet in school at this time. He helps at home by being good. He likes to play. He is in satisfactory health.

Your sponsorship commitment will help Keyner Gabriel gain skills to make the most of his education, with reading camps and teacher support. Working with healthcare professionals, we’ll help make sure pregnant women get knowledge and care to deliver healthy babies. Families will learn how to nourish their kids with healthy food, and the community will be empowered to stay healthy with good hygiene behaviors and sanitation facilities. Clean water will improve health and nutrition, and agricultural training will equip farmers to earn a better living. We’ll boost local child protection systems and our staff will show God’s love in word and deed to the community.

Sponsoring a child is a personal way to show God’s love to a child in need. For $50 a month, you’ll help that child and other vulnerable children in their community to stand tall, free from poverty.
