Sponsoring a Child with Cryptocare
Mohamed lives with his grandfather and has no brothers or sisters. His grandfather struggles to provide for the family. His grandfather is a farm laborer. Despite their efforts, it is difficult to meet the family's needs.
Mohamed is growing up in a hot, dry area of southwestern Mauritania, right on the border with Senegal, which is marked by a large river. The pressures of poverty have weakened family structures, and kids face abuse, neglect, and violence at home. Mbagne isn’t a society where children’s rights are prioritized: It has high rates of female genital mutilation, which is a direct precursor to child marriage. Parents aren’t well-educated about their children’s health, and they lack both knowledge and means to feed their kids nutritiously. Because it’s a rural area, many children don’t get registered with the government at birth, which holds them back from accessing vital services like education and healthcare throughout life. Some kids live too far away from schools to attend, and the schools that are available are dilapidated, lacking updated materials and qualified teachers. Rates of dropout and illiteracy are high in Mbagne.
He helps at home by doing the family chores. He likes to play video games. He is in satisfactory health.
Your sponsorship commitment will help Mohamed and his peers get better access to life’s basics, so they can start to lift themselves out of poverty. Community health workers will be trained and equipped to reach vulnerable families and meet their healthcare needs. Income opportunities and access to farming resources will be expanded, and the whole community will be educated on children’s rights to be protected from harm and exploitation. Kids will be supported to go to school and learn through extra programs like reading camps. We’ll work with the community to identify and shift harmful traditional norms like child marriage that keep children back from their full potential. Through it all, we’ll partner with churches and faith leaders to lead families into knowledge of God’s transformative love.

Sponsoring a child is a personal way to show God’s love to a child in need. For $50 a month, you’ll help that child and other vulnerable children in their community to stand tall, free from poverty.
