Thi Thanh Huyen lives with her parents and 1 sister. Her parents struggle to provide for the family. Her father is a farm laborer and her mother is a farm laborer. Despite their efforts, it is difficult to meet the family's needs.

Thi Thanh Huyen is growing up in a rural, mountainous, and impoverished area of Viet Nam, where families struggle to earn a good living. The community faces social challenges resulting from high rates of HIV/AIDS, child marriage and subsequent malnourishment of young children, limited health knowledge, and lack of protection for ethnic minorities. Children’s education isn’t robust due to scarce resources, but without the foundation of school, kids are more likely to remain in poverty for life. When they’re out of school, children are more vulnerable to abuses like child labor, child marriage, and teen pregnancy, which are common here.

Your sponsorship commitment will help Thi Thanh Huyen and her community get better access to resources and support that will empower them to break the cycle of poverty. Healthcare will become more accessible to the whole community, and they’ll get training on personal health knowledge. Parents and caregivers will learn about the disruption caused by child marriage to health and childhood, and they’ll be trained on the importance of education for their children. We’ll also raise awareness about children’s rights and protection against abuse of all kinds, especially for the most at-risk kids. Through it all, staff will show God’s love as we care for the most vulnerable children and families.
